You can request a repeat prescription using the online form, computer slip attached to your previous prescription, in writing via a letter, or by filling in a request form from the Surgery, making sure to include your personal details and listing all medication required.

Please allow at least 2 working days for the practice to process your routine prescription requests.

For guidance please use the table below to show you when we need to receive your request for it to be sent to the pharmacy of your choice.

It will then take time for your pharmacy to prepare your medication and this may vary depending on the pharmacy you use – you will need to ask them for the details.

If you are overdue a medication review, or to attend for a chronic disease review or to have any necessary tests carried out, your request may need to be authorised by your GP before the prescription can be issued. This may cause a delay to the process, this will depend on the individual patient. Please try to ensure that you are up to date with your medication reviews and your chronic disease reviews by booking your appointments at the appropriate time, as this will prevent a delay in your prescription being issued.

Please be aware that we have an increased demand for prescriptions around bank holidays, so if you can order your medication earlier or wait until after the bank holiday this would be much appreciated. Due to this increase in demand at these busy periods your prescription may take longer to process.

Any request submitted after 12:30pm is unlikely to begin to be processed until the following working morning when the minimum of 2 working days will commence.

The surgery cannot deal with requests over the telephone.

For enquiries ONLY, please telephone 01225 896630 and select option 4 between 10am-12 noon Monday to Friday.

Please be aware that we cannot offer an on the day prescription service. If you need routine repeat medication please allow the appropriate time for your request to be processed. However if you need some medication urgently due to unforeseen circumstances please ask at reception and we will endeavor to help you with your request.

If you, or someone you care for, use the same medicines regularly, you may be able to benefit from repeat dispensing from the pharmacist. This means you won't have to visit the surgery or make an appointment to see the doctor or practice nurse every time you need more medicine. If you are interested in this scheme, ask your GP or the practice nurse next time you visit the surgery, or pick up a leaflet at reception

AVAILABLE FROM THE 5TH JUNE 2017 - PRESCRIPTION ORDERING DIRECT.
